Verbal Director’s Report: Ashley Sweeney
• Basketball Program is progressing nicely. Over 130 players registered and practices have begun at Kerhonkson Elementary School. Supervisor Baden has given me permission to purchase new basketballs for the program this year. I am just waiting for Mike Smith to get back to me with a quote.
• Thanksgiving was great! We served 159 community members. The Recreation Department would like to thank all who were able to help out on the day of the event.
• Wreath Class-Took place on November 30, 2021. It was absolutely perfect. We had one class. The people who signed up for the second class ended up canceling. Thank you to Assistant Recreation Director, Bethany Dennin who taught the class. She did a fantastic job. I hope that this can be something we do year after year. The class was free for community members and each person got to take home their own wreath. Thank you, Deborah Martin for letting us borrow your clippers. They were very helpful.
• Coat Drive-I’d like to thank Elaine and Mel Tapper for their help with the coat drive. They both were here for the entire day of the event. We had approximately 15 families show up. We got rid of half of our supply and we brought the left over coats, hats, gloves and scarves to Kerhonkson Elementary School for their coat drive.
• New Playground equipment-If you haven’t already had a chance, go check out the new piece of equipment in the park. We have gotten a lot of good feedback on it and people seem to love the musical instruments.
• Youth Holiday Party-Friday, December 10th from 5pm-7pm at the Harold Lipton Community Center with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We will have music, crafts and refreshments for all. Every child that signs up will get a gift from Santa. At the party, we will present the “Sue Matson Distinguished Youth Award” to Emma Post.
• The “Mary Lee Friend of Youth Award” will be presented to Pat Davis at a later date. We are hoping to get on the agenda for the Fire Department meeting in January so we can present it to him then.
• Senior Pancake Palooza To-Go: Friday, December 17th from 9:30am-11:30am. Anyone who wants to help, please be here by 8:30am.
• January- I would like to plan another community trip to Resorts World Casino. Several people have requested this.

Group Discussion:
• Deb would prefer not using styrofoam for our meals. Let’s look into other options. Jessica sent some suggestions to Ashley to explore.
• Can we get air purifiers with HEPA filters for the community center room?
• Can we talk to the Fire Department and see if they would think about doing a “Christmas Tree burning” event. Maybe in January. Deb will discuss with Peter Nelson.

Pam moves to adjourn meeting; Tina seconds.
Meeting adjourned: 11:20am
Next meeting: January 19, 2022 at 10:00am.
