Town Board Public Hearing #6 – July 2022

The Town of Rochester Town Board held a public hearing on proposed local law H-2022 : Wetlands and Stream Buffer Requirements for July 27, 2022 at 6:15pm at the Harold Lipton Community Center, 15 Tobacco Road Accord, NY 12404.
PRESENT:
Councilman Michael Coleman Councilwoman Erin Enouen
Councilman Adam Paddock Supervisor Michael Baden
Town Clerk Kathleen Gundberg Town Attorney Marylou Christiana
ABSENT:
Councilwoman Charlotte Smiseth

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Alice Gray: would the wetlands include swamp areas? Or are wetlands only determined by NYS and Federal wetlands?

Judith Karpova: The DEC puts out seminars and webinars on small brooks and streams which is educating. Can we create our own regulations?

Robert Lesnow: would you be able to build a house along a stream if that stream goes through private land? Maybe there are no regulations, have there ever been? Do these proposes speak to this issue?

Supervisor Baden stated that he would speak on these questions after the public hearing portion of the meeting.

A Motion was made by Councilwoman Enouento continue the public hearing with a date to be determined.
