Zoning Review Committee

The Committee approved the March 18, 2016 minutes.

The Committee went over the proposal for §140-37, Solar Energy, prior to its submission to the Town Board and following committee members’ attendance at a presentation, “Zoning for Solar,” sponsored by the County Planning Board and held at SUNY Ulster on March 22. Mr. Baden reported that the draft law had been reviewed by Jessica Bacher, Executive Director of the Pace University Land Use Law Center who gave the March 22 workshop for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s NY-Sun PV Trainers Network.

The Committee made changes to clarify language, as well as area and lot coverage requirements. The group agreed that the draft would be presented to the Town Board at its April 7 meeting.

The group planned to take up short-term rentals at its next meeting which was scheduled for April 22, 1 pm at Town Hall.

Addendum: The April 22 meeting was cancelled due to the expected absence of four committee members. The next meeting is scheduled for April 29, 1 pm at Town Hall.
