Town of Rochester Youth Commision Meeting Minutes October 3, 2018

Directors Report:
The summer program was a great program, energetic, busy and very rewarding. Special thanks to the Food Pantry for providing food for the program. We plan to make beach and pool trips every week next year. Also, would like to check out sprinkler beach in Monticello.
We received a lot of great feedback from the counselors, parents and participants this season and will be adapting the forms for some of our other programs. We are analyzing the data and will work on implementing some of the ideas into next season.
There are four new counselors in the after school program and we have 48 youth participating at this time.
We will need help with Heritage Day 10-3. At this time we have only one entry for the adult category and several signed up for the youth category for the pie contest and 6 signed up for the talent competition. Jessica Knapp has agreed to DJ the event and Kathleen Gundberg will MC.
Basketball registration started on October 1st, and we will be holding another registration October 10th. We may have run into can make soup but not be there Tuesday.
December 14th is the day for the holiday parties, but there is a big change. So the luncheon will not be rushed for the youth party, there will be a larger time gap between.

Old News: On getting the word out for the Youth Awards, please bring a list of people/groups with contact info if possible from the area that you think we should reach out to for nominations for awards. We will send a letter/email to the different entities and follow-up by the November meeting.
