The meeting started at 9:45 am.

Absent: Town Board Liaison Cindy Fornino.

The minutes of the August 30, 2017 meeting were reviewed and one small amendment made. Pam Stocking made a motion to approve the minutes as amended, Sandy Chipman seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously.

Carol Dennin presented the (written) Director’s Report; among the highlights:

• The Summer Program was a “smashing success” and that was confirmed by surveying children and staff; the responses were overwhelmingly positive (trips were wonderful, division of counselors to children was very good, some issues from last year were corrected, etc.). The Department’s newsletter presented thanks to all those contributing to the program and its success.

• After School program — is full and all parents are on board with the changes made this year.

• The Rondout Valley Lions Club event on September 23, 2017 (10 am to 4 pm) at the Veterans/Town Park, to which the Recreation Dept. participated, was amazing! It was a very well attended fundraiser/Fall festival for The Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
