PUBLIC COMMENT:

Town Clerk Gundberg announced 125 public comment correspondences were received.

David Bollin:“I’ve been a resident for 45 years and grew up around the track, my first job I ever had was at the track and they employed a lot of high schoolers. I know he was met with opposition in the past but he has obliged by the laws put in place. COVID hit so many businesses hard financially and this could help him recover. I think he should be granted the special use permit.”

Wireless caller: “Anything we can do to support local businesses I’m in favor of.”

Jill Cole: “I reside on Whitfield Rd.with my husband and 2 small children. I object the waiver. I don’t challenge the speedway family life and we arrange our lives around it many times having Friday/Saturday races half the year but I don’t want it on a Sunday. Sunday’s are for prayer and/or meditation I’m afraid if this request is granted there will be more requests to come.”

Lindsey Brower: “I support the speedway to grant the Sunday permit. Motorsports in general took a hard hit along with small business owners. I’ve heard concerns of traffic being an issue maybe there can be better strategies in place. I fully support the waiver and emailed Kate my comments.”

Supervisor Baden stated he would like to close the verbal portion of the public hearing and leave it open for written comments with a deadline of 4:00pm on Tuesday 4/27/21 @ 4pm.
