Recommended Resolution: Resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Rochester endorsing the County of Ulster to submit an application to the Empire State Development Corporation Restore New York Communities Initiative Round Nine Grant funding for rehabilitation of an existing commercial property
WHEREAS the County of Ulster is eligible for grant funding under Round Nine of the Restore NY Communities Initiative Municipal Grant Program, and
WHEREAS the County has considered proposals that qualify for funding under the program and selected one Project to be included in an application that will be submitted to Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) as follows:
Redevelopment of the Accord Granary, 2 Towpath Road, Accord, NY 12404. The Project will rehabilitate the vacant, mixed-use property’s several buildings totaling 16,671 square feet to support commercial ventures including lodging, hospitality, and recreation, as well as staff housing; and
WHEREAS the County’s grant application requires endorsement by the local governing body of the municipality in which the Project is located as a condition of application; and
WHEREAS the Town of Rochester finds that the Project is consistent with existing local plans; and
WHEREAS the proposed financing is appropriate for the Project; and
WHEREAS the Project will facilitate effective and efficient use of existing and future public resources so as to promote both economic development and preservation of community resources and the Project develops and enhances infrastructure and/or other facilities in a manner that will attract, create and sustain employment opportunities in the Town of Rochester; and
WHEREAS the Town Board held a Public Hearing on Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 pm.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Rochester hereby endorses a County of Ulster application for Restore NY funding for the Accord Granary, 2 Towpath Road, Accord, NY 12404, as approved in the Economic Enterprise Overlay District decision and site plan approval, and to be received and administered by the County in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations established by ESDC.
