Town Board Public Hearing – April 2024

The Town of Rochester Town board held a public hearing on proposed local law D-2024:
Amending Chapter 140, Zoning Map SBL 76.10-1-27.100, 6 Samsonville Road, Kerhonkson NY and located in the Industrial (I) zoning district shall be rezoned to be located in the Hamlet (H) zoning district, at the landowner’s petition.

Deputy Supervisor Erin Enouen Councilwoman Charlotte Smiseth
Town Clerk Kathleen Gundberg Town Attorney Mary Lou Christiana

ABSENT:

Town Supervisor Michael Baden

Deputy Supervisor Enouen called the public hearing to order and read in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Debra Joy: I live across the street from the property in question. What is the difference between Industrial to hamlet. I am in fear of this becoming a 24-hour 7/11. As it is there is a camper on the property that someone has been living in, is this appropriate?

Alana Blum: as a member of the housing committee, we have been advocating for more properties along Route 209 be in the hamlet zone.

HOLD THE PUBLIC HEARING OPEN:

Motion: Councilwoman Smiseth
Second: Councilman Coleman

DISCUSSION: Councilwoman Enouen stated that the hearing must remain open until we receive notice from the Ulster County Planning Board and Town Planning Board.

The Town of Rochester Town Board will hold the public hearing open until 4/25/2024 at 6:30pm.
