Recreation Commission Meeting
Call to Order: 9:40am
Present: Jessica Knapp-Chair, Pam Stocking-Vice Chair, Sandy Chipman, Deborah Martin & Ashley Sweeney-Recreation Director.
Approval of July minutes: Pam makes a motion; Sandy seconds.
Approval of August minutes: Sandy makes a motion; Pam seconds.
Verbal Director’s Report: Ashley Sweeney
• Heritage Day- Right now my main focus is Heritage Day. Jess will DJ at the Community Center from 10am-1pm. Deb will come to get prepared for the quilt show on the Wednesday and Thursday before the event.
• Quilt show-Deb has about 17 quilts for the event. She will need a few tables on the day of the event. We will hang hooks before the event and then hang the quilts on the morning of October 2nd. Pam will help with quilt show.
• After Heritage Day, we will switch focus to plans for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have a few ideas for each. I have to see what we are able to do because of Covid. I will keep you all in the loop.
Group Discussion
• If the town is interested in an air filtration system for the Community Center they should look in a “double duct system.” It brings air from the outside in.
• Pumpkin Carving class for Halloween at the Town Park under the pavilion. How could we do this in the safest way possible? Ashley will have to get the idea approved by Mike.
