Community Preservation Plan Public Information Sessions

The Town of Rochester is hosting three public information sessions on the Community Preservation Plan:

Saturday June 22, 2024 10am-1pm at:
Harold Lipton Community Center, 15 Tobacco Road Accord

Wednesday June 26, 2024 6pm-9pm at:
Accord Firehouse, 22 Main St. Accord

Sunday July 7, 2024 1-4pm at:
Rochester # 2 Firehouse, 922 Samsonville Rd. Kerhonkson

The information sessions will cover the three proposed local laws scheduled for public hearing on July 11, 2024:

A Local Law establishing a Community Preservation Fund and creating a Community
Preservation Fund Advisory Board as authorized by General Municipal Law ยง 6-S for
the purpose of preserving natural, scenic, historic, and open space resources within the
Town.

A Local Law Adopting a Community Preservation Plan for the purpose of preserving natural, scenic, historic and open space resources within the Town.

A Local Law imposing a 1.5 percent Real Estate Transfer Tax on the conveyance of
interests in real property in the Town, with the revenues derived from this tax to be
deposited in the Town of Rochester Community Preservation Fund for the purpose of
preserving natural, scenic, historic, and open space resources for the preservation of
community character within the Town.

The information sessions are being hosted by the Community Preservation Plan Committee. The draft local laws and the plan document are linked below.
