Dear Ulster County Business:
The NEW Ulster County CARES Small Business Assistance program will provide $1,000,000 in funding to financially challenged businesses, thanks to federal CARES Act funding from the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal.
A wide variety of business expenses, including rent, payroll, and equipment, will be eligible. The maximum funding award per business is $35,000.
Qualifying businesses must be located in Ulster County, have 25 or fewer employees, and must be either owned by a person of limited income*, or employ a majority of individuals who meet limited-income thresholds. Priority points will be awarded to minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses.

*For the purposes of this funding program, limited income is defined as a Household Income at or below the following thresholds, as reflected on 2020 income tax returns:
Household of 1: $49,200
Household of 2: $56,200
Household of 3: $63,250
Household of 4: $70,250
Household of 5: $75,900
