Recreation Commission Meeting
Call to order: 9:37am
Present via zoom: Pam Stocking-Vice Chair, Manuela Michailescu, Deborah Martin, Tina Bergen-Russell, Ashley Sweeney-Recreation Director, Bethany Dennin-Assistant Recreation Director
Approval of Minutesas amended: Pam makes a motion; Deb seconds.
Verbal Director’s Report: Ashley Sweeney
Youth Holiday Party-It was great having an “in person” event for the first time since COVID began. I would estimate we had a approximately 75 people here. Thank you to Santa and Mrs. Claus for attending the event. Thank you to Jessica Knapp for DJ’ing the event and thank you to all other Recreation Commission members for helping out. Emma Post received the “2021 Sue Matson Distinguished Youth Award.” Congratulations to her!
Senior Holiday Brunch-We distributed 50 meals. Thanks to everyone who came to help out. Especially Carole Metsger and Christine Oquendo for making the pancakes for us.
Chair and Vice Chair Positions-The Town Board needs you to discuss who you would like to be in the position Chair and Vice Chair for 2022. They will then appoint these positions at the February 3rd regular Town Board meeting.
Manuela makes a motion to nominate Deborah Martin as Chair, Tina seconds. All in favor: aye
Pam Stocking will remain as Vice Chair. Manuela will resume her role as Secretary.
Basketball-Mike Smith donated basketballs for the program. Thank you, Mike.
Paint Class-The Recreation Department would like to hold a youth paint class for Valentine’s Day on February 11th. This is pending approval from Supervisor Mike Baden. May not be possible because of Covid.
