Due to the huge outpouring of requests by residents to reopen the “Free Pile” at the Town of Rochester Transfer Station, the Transfer Station will resume accepting items which may be reused on Thursday October 21.

All items left must be viewed and accepted by management and must be in usable condition. Items which are broken or have no reusable value will not be accepted and cannot be left.
A list of criteria for items will be developed and available.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer to assist in the effort may attend a signup to be held at 4pm on Sunday October 17 at the Harold Lipton Community Center. You may also call the Town offices to leave your contact information.

This can only work if we all work as a team to make it work. In past, the Town has had to discard over a ton of unusable items per week. Please respect the effort by not bringing unusable items.
