COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER

Town Organizations
The following organizations welcome qualified volunteers.

Accord Fire Department:  Contact Accord Fire District Commissioner at 626-3707

Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad:   Volunteers are always needed to help as drivers or EMT (emergency technicians).  Training will be provided.  If you are interested in volunteering, call 626-2264 or email to www.kafas.us.

The Rochester Food Pantry:     The Pantry needs volunteers to help prepare bags of food.  You will be on duty for one week with a partner about once every 6-8 weeks. Please call the Pantry at 626-7501 and leave a message if you are interested or send an email.

Ulster Literacy Association (ULA)
 is a unique organization in Ulster County. They offer one-to-one tutoring of English reading, writing and speaking skills to any adult who asks or is referred for our help. ULA tutors are volunteers from all over Ulster communities, and everyone is welcome to apply. No prior teaching experience is necessary -all tutors take our specially-designed 18-hour training course and become Certified Adult Literacy Volunteers.
