Zoning Review Committee

The Committee, acting pursuant to an April 28, 2016 Town Board resolution, discussed a draft proposal for an amendment to the Town zoning law, §140-37, Solar Energy, which would regulate solar energy systems solely for residential, agricultural, and commercial parcels’ onsite use. The ZRC was directed to draft a separate proposal for the regulation of utility-scale solar energy systems at a later date.

The group agreed to review the proposed draft with a view to presenting it to the Town board on May 5, 2016.

The next ZRC meeting is scheduled for May13, 2016 at Town Hall, 1 pm.

Addendum: The ZRC met on May 5, 2016 to finalize the solar zoning proposal prior to its presentation to the Town Board that evening. The same persons were present as on April 29, except for Larry DeWitt.
