Town of Rochester Youth Commission Minutes October 24, 2018
Called to order: 9:35 am
Present: Jessica Knapp-Chair, Pam Stocking-Vice Chair, Sandy Chipman, Manuela Michailescu, Debbie Slutsky, Ashley Sweeney-Recreation/Youth Director, Bethany Dennin & Rita Harkins-Assistants to the Recreation Director.
Minutes: Pam Stocking made a motion to approve minutes. Seconded by Sandy Chipman.
Verbal Director’s Report given by Ashley Sweeney.
Lions Club Fall Festival – Hair braiding, pluck a duck, leaf rubbing, Hayride & balloons. Thanks to Jared Gundberg for driving the Town’s hay wagon.
Heritage Day (October 6, 2018)– 9 children and 2 adults participated in the Pie Contest. 9 children participated in the Youth Talent Show. Approximately 45 people participated in whole event.
Halloween Party (October 26, 2018)-Costume parade at 5pm. DJ dance party.
Trick-or-Treating (October 31, 2018)-Trick-or-Treating on Main Street in Accord with After-School kids. This was suggested by Sue Bruck. We think it’s great idea.
Focus on getting nominations for awards to be presented on December 14, 2018 at the Holiday Senior Brunch and Youth Holiday Party.
Discussion on what Thanksgiving prep needs to be done.
All Youth Commission members assisted the Recreation Department in filling goody bags for the upcoming Halloween party.
