Town of Rochester Youth Commission Minutes November 13, 2019
Call to order: 9:35am
Present: Jessica Knapp-Chair, Pam Stocking-Vice Chair, Debbie Slutsky, Manuela Michailescu, Ashley Sweeney-Recreation/ Youth Director, Rita Harkins and Bethany Dennin-Assistants to the Recreation Director.

Members wrapped cutlery for Thanksgiving
Rita will not be teaching the Thursday class next year. Ideas to replace it with smart bells, living well..
Recreation Department staff will be meeting with other local Rec. depts, Rosendale and Marbletown to discuss/compare programs. Meeting will take place at Marbletown Rec.
Thanksgiving Luncheon 11:30-1:30 on Tuesday and 9am -12noon to hand out meals on Thursday if needed. Zuma Martinez from the Kerhonkson Elementary School will be doing the dessert drive again.
Reviewed Nominations for awards- Manuela Michailescu motioned to approve Alice Gray to receive the Mary Lee Friend of Youth Award, Pam Stocking seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. Manuela motioned to approve Cheyenne Freer to receive the Sue Matson Distinguished Youth award, Sandy seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously.
Basketball- 114 participants and 20 sponsors.
Youth Holiday Party Dec 14th starting with a Tree lighting in honor of the late town clerk Ronnie Sommer from 5pm -7pm. There will be a hayride to museum and back to community center.
Rita asked for members to fill out Christmas cards for service men, she will be mailing out.
