• The Summer Program was awesome, amazing; the staff and children were the best ever; a great addition as counselor was RJ Thompson, who used to participate in our program as youth
— we served 72 youth (with over 40 registered each week) and were able to provide full and partial scholarships to 15 youth, thanks to generous donations from The Oremus Foundation, TORochester Senior Group, Kerhonkson Golden Age Seniors, Rondout Valley Federation of Teachers, Christ The King Church, Tana Miller and helpers, Rochester Food Pantry and Bernie Addis. Thanks to the Town of Rochester for sponsoring the event at Ellenville Library.
The Federal Summer Food Service program (from the NYS Dept. of Education), Food Bank of Hudson Valley, helped with “Locker Mates” lunch bags.
— Director of the program: Dyani Fitzpatrick
Assistant Director: Veronica Wynkoop-Schwenk
— The weekly “themes” of the program were: Super Hero, Get Wild, Lost in Space, Riding High in the Sky, Beach and Bubbles, Blast from the Past, Adios Amigos.
— getting a better, air conditioned bus was the issue at the center of a a brain storming discussion which followed; many repairs were needed for the existing bus; a group to focus on solving this issue is needed
