Supervisor Chipman opened the meeting and introduced Elliot Spitzer and David O’Halloran to give an overview of their proposal of Video Lottery Terminals within their resorts.

They discussed with changes to the economy local resorts are looking for a way to survive by finding attractions to get the people to their facilities during the week.  VLT’s would be sustainable amenities to both the Hudson Valley Resort and the Pine Grove Dude Ranch. They discussed the economic benefits the VLT’s provide to the area along with positive outcomes that can take place with the community business as a whole.

Wayne Bradford, business owner within the Town of Rochester stated that these amenities will help local business strive as well. Employment will go up and local employees will spend the money locally. This would be a huge benefit to businesses year round.

Shane Ricks, also a local business owner sees this as a no brainer. Very little would have to be done to either resort. They both are equip to take on the people and this sounds like a great asset to the Town.

Barry Medenbach as a neighbor to the Pine Grove Dude Ranch he stated you hardly know they are there. They are accommodating to the neighborhood and support these amenities.

Two other residents also spoke in favor of the VLT’s.
