Town Board Special Meeting – July 2015

A Special Meeting was held on July 16, 2015 at 10am at the Town of Rochester Town Hall regarding the agreement between the Town of Rochester and Brinewood Rod & Gun Club.

 

PRESENT:

Supervisor Chipman                            Councilwoman Chachkin        Councilwoman Fornino

Councilman Drabkin                           Town Clerk Gundberg

 

ABSENT:

Councilman Spano

 

PLEDGE:

 

Supervisor Chipman opened the meeting and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

The purpose of said meeting was to discuss the agreement between the Town of Rochester and Brinewood Rod & Gun Club.

Councilwoman Fornino had concerns with insurance. She stated we should be more specific as to covering employees and agents doing the work.

Supervisor Chipman stated that they are already covered in the Town policy itself.

 

Councilwoman Fornino asked expressed concerns on lead contamination. Should a water test be completed ahead of time.

It was agreed to place in the contract that the Town of Rochester will not be held accountable for any lead contamination at that site.

 

Councilwoman Chachkin stated we should approve the agreement today contingent of Attorney Christiana’s approval.

 

Councilwoman Fornino stated she would like to see what the cost of man hours and fuel that were charged to the Town for this project. And why was the Brinewood Rod & Gun Club the selected gun club.

Supervisor Chipman stated that it was a great location, there has been no complaints on noise.

 

AGREEMENT BETWEEN TOWN OF ROCHESTER AND BRINEWOOD R&G CLUB:

Resolution # 92 -2015:

 

A Motion was made by Councilman Drabkin to approve the Brinewood Rod & Gun Club contract contingent to Attorney Christiana’a approval.

Seconded by: Councilman Chachkin                                                  4-0aye, motion carried

Spano absent

There was a brief discussion on the transfer station fees.

Councilwoman Chachkin stated that there could be a potential danger in people being singled out for weighing the household garbage.

Supervisor Chipman stated that they will discuss it further in detail at the audit workshop meeting. He will gather information on prices from other town’s transfer stations.

A Motion was made by Councilman Drabkin to adjourn the meeting at 10:30am.
