Town Board Public Hearing – November 2017

The Public Hearing on the Proposed 2018 Budget was held on November 9, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Town of Rochester Town Hall.
PRESENT:

Deputy Supervisor Drabkin Councilwoman Chachkin Councilwoman Fornino
Councilwoman Haugen-Depuy Town Clerk Gundberg Attorney Christiana

ABSENT:

Supervisor Chipman

PLEDGE:

Deputy Supervisor Drabkin opened the meeting and Mike Baden led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Mike Baden asked what the source was for the Highway revenue? ($ 261,000.00)

Deputy Supervisor Drabkin stated that $ 250,000.00 is calculated as state & federal aid &
$11,000.00 involves sale equipment/scrap.

Highway Superintendent Spano stated that the Town will receive approximately $ 210,000.00 from CHIPS and approximately $ 70,000.00 will be a roll over into 2018.

Mike Baden discussed the revenue zoning fee budgeted for this year was $ 600.00. In the past it was $ 4,200.00 so he suggested that the Town Board increase AA-4-2110.000
(Zoning Revenue line) $ 3000.00 for a total of $ 3,600.00.
He request to increase the AA-6-7310.100 Youth Personal service line $ 3,000.00 ( $122,657.00 to $ 125,657.00) for the increase in salary of the provisional Recreation Director pending the civil service exam.

Highway Superintendent Spano asked that the Board reconsider his initial proposal regarding vehicle purchase and capital money.
Boice Mill Road Bridge is yellow flagged and work needs to be done to the Whitfield Road Bridge if the money is not placed in the budget the Bridge may have to be closed.

A Motion was made by Councilwoman Chachkin to close the public hearing on the 2018 proposed budget at 7:10pm.
