Town Board Audit/Workshop Meeting – March 2017

The March Audit Workshop Meeting was held on March 30, 2017 at 5:30pm at the Town of Rochester Town Hall.

PLEDGE:
Supervisor Chipman opened the meeting and Wayne Kelder led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS:
A Motion was made by Councilman Drabkin to approve the following bills;
General Fund Abstract 3 of 2017: $ 82,131.63
Highway Fund Abstract 3 of 2017: $ 58,878.62
Street Lighting: $ 410.53

284 AGREEMENT:
Resolution #63 -2017:

A Motion was made by Councilwoman Chachkin to approve the sum of $ 190,000 to be set aside to be expended for primary work and general repairs upon 111 miles of Town highways, including oil & chip, culverts and bridges.

REQUEST FOR STONE AND HAULING EXPENDITURE:
Resolution # 64-2017:

A Motion was made by Councilwoman Haugan-Depuy to approve the expenditure of up to
$ 42, 750 out of Highway Fund Appropriations- General Repairs line DA-6-5110.400, and to authorize the Superintendent of Highways to execute a contract with Peckham Materials located at 2 Union Street Extension, Athens, NY 12015 for the purchase of 881 tons of # 1 chip and seal stone, and 881 tons of # 1A chip and seal stone. The cost also includes hauling of said stone and will be used to improve the following roadways:

a. Schroon Hill Road – 10560 ft.
b. Dewitt Road- 6442 ft.
c. Sahler Mill Road- 5996 ft.
d. Beehive Road- 1901 ft.
e. Dug Road- 2693 ft.

A total of approximately 5.25 miles of roadway.

WORKSHOP MEETING FOR SUGGESTED CODE REVISIONS:
Resolution # 65 -2017:

A Motion was made by Councilman Drabkin to schedule the suggested code revisions for the April Audit/ Workshop Meeting 4/27/17 at 6:00pm at the Town of Rochester Town Hall.

AWARD OF APPRECIATION:

Highway Superintendent Spano and past Highway Superintendent Kelder presented Harm Miedema with an award of service for his 28 plus years of dedicated service to the Town of Rochester Highway Department.

Legislature Ronald Lapp also presented Harm Miedema with the Pride of Ulster Award for his dedication and honorary work ethics. Harm has been a true role model for all and will be greatly missed.
