Veterans Memorial – Honor Roll
Francis Gray led the discussion which came to the following conclusions:
1) Location – entrance to the Town Park/Town Hall, where the plow now stands, unless
a private landowner can be found who would allow the memorial to be placed nearer
Main Street at some more prominent site;
2) Separate plaques on separate boulders will mark each war, WWI until the present;
3) An American flag, benches and planting would be a part of the site;
4) HPC would like to see dedication of this memorial to be Memorial Day 2007.
Signage
1) Bill Collier is putting stakes in the ground to show the DOT where to install three historical
markers along Route 209;
2) The other historical markers will be cleaned and repainted ASAP after #1 is accomplished;
3) “Welcome to Accord” and Hamlet signs will be the same shape and color scheme as the
Museum sign.

Walking Tour of Historic Main Street, Accord
The HPC supports the idea of this tour as the feature for a Friends of Historic Rochester event.
The motivation is to highlight our Town’s history in a way that will encourage Town unity. Seeds of this
plan came from a recent meeting of the Historic Properties Group of FHR.

Pine Bush Cemetery Fence
Bill Collier will speak with Val Panaccione re progress in this restoration project.

New Board Members
Additional Board members are needed for HPC, who:
1) are able to attend Board meetings regularly;
2) have appropriate interest or expertise; e.g., architect/historic preservation experience,
attorney, state/national register property owner, etc.
Other
The NYS Assembly and Senate are supporting a bill which offers tax credits for restoration
projects by owners of residential and commercial property that are listed on the State and National
Registers.
