Monday, September 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

Members Present: Alice Cross (President), Bill Collier, Frank Dannecker, Elaine Laflamme, Ward Mintz, Alice Schoonmaker.
Others Present: Carl Chipman as Town Board Liaison
Absent: Howard Kagan.

Call to Order – Alice Cross called the meeting to order at 1:00.

Minutes – Review of July Minutes. Bill Collier motioned to accept the July Minutes, Alice Schoonmaker seconded the motion and all approved.
Hamlet of Accord Revitalization Project (HARP) –
W. Mintz reported on recent HARP activities and meetings:
a) walking tour of downtown Accord and the ensuing discussions about activities and vacant properties,
b) adding new members to replace the HARP members who had resigned, and
c) group’s proposal to redo Welcome to Accord sign.
The history of the current sign was then discussed. The Town of Rochester could pay for the base of a new wel-come sign and several sign makers were mentioned – Johnson Signs, Timely Signs, PDQ and the sign maker in Stone Ridge. W. Mintz noted that C. Chipman was arranging for the DOT representatives working on the re-placement bridge on Rte. 209 to address HARP’s October meeting.
N. Larson Study of Historic Designation for Hamlet of Accord
W. Mintz discussed a letter written to N. Larson seeking to retain him to conduct a feasibility study of obtaining Historic Designation for Accord.
Solar –
The current status of the proposed solar energy law was discussed. Members discussed the importance of tourism and agriculture on the Town and the protection of prime agricultural soils was mentioned. The importance of preserving historic farms and farmlands was discussed.
HPC will forward its comments on the proposed solar law to the Town Board.

Misc.
October 8th is Volunteer Appreciation Day.
Next Meeting – Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., Town Hall.
Adjournment – motion made by Ward Mintz, seconded by Alice Schoonmaker, and passed by all.
