Communication from Planning Board – Re: Application for Special Events Venue permit by Eddleman and Macagnone of 607 County Rte. 6, Alligerville.
Letter and images of barn have been sent from HPC to the PB for its public hearing tonight re the Special Events Venue. HPC encourages the owners of this historic property to preserve the exterior appearance of the barn.

Alligerville Historic District Project –
The AHD was approved by NYSHPO on March 25, 2015. Application for National Register now goes to Washington for approval; probably will take a month or two.
Press Release will appear after Washington approval.
Celebratory gathering of HPC and AHD property owners is planned for July 18, 2015. Possible venues: RELC Headquarters or Schoolhouise/Firehouse.
Signs for AHD are being researched (Pomeroy, et al), plus for D & H NR site (canal aqueduct).
June and September issues of The Accordian contain text and images from Neil Larson’s NR application. These will be given to the AHD property owners.

Watering Trough, Alligerville – Sign currently is being made at Catskill Castings. Bill Collier will pick it up and then work with Tom Hall-Davis to have the trough repaired and the sign installed.

Alligerville Schoolhouse/Firehouse – TOR Fire Commissioners are interviewing architects regarding repair and upgrade of the Fire Company space. Alice C. will contact Commissioner David Lawrence re requested input from HPC. Letter to the Board of Fire Commissioners from HPC would mention strategies such as flat roof so as not to obscure the schoolhouse.

Accord Survey Project – Application for Preserve NY grant to support a survey by Neil Larsen was submitted by April 13, 2015 application deadline, thanks to cooperation from Erin Tobin of Preserve NY, and work by Neil, Ward and Alice C.
Possible local support for this project might come from the Rochester Residents Association, Bob Anderberg/Elaine La Flamme or Richard Travers/Sheryl Pierre.

Storry-Gazlay Property – On March 23, 2015 a letter was sent from the HPC to Building Inspector Gerry Davis, expressing the extreme concern of the HPC about deteriorating condition of the property, emphasizing the historical significance of the barn, which the Bank (holding the mortgage) is considering demolishing. HPC encourages repair rather than razing of the barn.

Palentown Schoolhouse – Frank Dannecker brought up the need for signage for this NR Register asset of the TOR; to be on approach roads to the schoolhouse, in addition to a larger sign at the site. This could be a project for the HPC.

“Accord” sign at intersection of Rte. 209 and Main Street has deteriorated and fallen down. Landfill staff is working on repairing and re-hanging the sign.

Liaison Report – Sherry said that most of her information had already been covered during this meeting. She did announce that the “Welcome to the Town of Rochester” signs are being made at the prison and will be ready for installation soon.

Next Meeting – Monday, May 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., Town Hall.

Adjournment – motion made by Walter Levy, seconded by Bill Collier and passed.

Respectfully submitted,
Alice Cross, Acting Secretary
