Rochester ECC Meeting June 14,

- Open with reading of minutes from previous May meeting.
John From Viridian gave a 25 minute presentation.
He spoke about the open market for Green Alternatives for reducing our carbon footprint and about how the company was founded on the concept of giving people a way reduce their carbon footprint.
Viridian provides 20% Green energy to grid and is now in 7 states. This is their 1year anniversary in NY. The company motto is “ Reducing carbon footprint one meter at a Time.” Their power comes from wind, solar photovoltaic, captured gas and hydropower.
Joe will contact Carl for utility bills to be given to John for a price comparison.
- EEC voted in favor for approving John to present in front of town board.
-Jorge/Laura mentioned the Towns Executive order banning brine solutions in the Town of Rochester.
- Ryan opened a discussion on his research on Brine solutions and Hydro-fracking.
- Fall ECC event talked about. Members agreed we are not ready to launch for this year. At next meeting turn our energy to Creek Week.
- Rail Trail – July 7 @ 8:30am to midday work session at Lucas Tpke. and Dejaeger Lane. Looking for volunteers and there will be a county work group there to assist.
- Joe talked about water testing results. The majority of all tests failed but this is a season long study and you shouldn’t make any judgements on 1 test.
- Brought copy of Recycling CFL”s poster to be posted at transfer station. Will now bring copy to Carl.
- Look into making bag recycling poster as well.
- Talked about Wave program and will look into for Creek Week then send to Laura.
- Joe and Shelly might attend planning board meetings on second tuesday
- Laura talked about Creek week, family oriented events where people come together to celebrate our creeks. September possible date. Community involvement. talk next month

- Ethan talked about events going on at the Life Bridge Sanctuary- Rice growing workshop July 8 , July 23 Bio-char workshop , july 17 Permaculture in Zimbabwe.
- June 25, Hank will try to attend a Regional Sustainable program and bring back
