  • Rail Trail info meeting for town residents on hold for now.
  • Earth Day – Road clean up or something new this year?  ECC members decide to participate in clean up and possibly add another event to celebrate Earth Day.  Shelley and Jorge to brainstorm movie screening idea, location, etc. and report back to  group.
  • Reports
  •  Rail Trail – Steve is now president o f Ulster County Trail Advisory Committee.  There is still a two mile section of rail trail on private lands that is not legally accessible.  Steve estimates that about 80 – 85 % of land owners are receptive to the idea of granting access.  Town of Wawarsing plans to open their section of previously unmaintained rail trail sometime this year. Marbletown still has funds provided by Central Hudson to construct bridges over Rest Plaus Rd and over the creek behind Williams Lumber. Suggestion is made that the ECC should approach Town Board about using Town resources/equipment or allocating funds for contract work to repair drainage in a wet two mile section.  Jorge motions that ECC seek assistance from Town Board.  Bob seconds.  Steve will look into cost if a funding source is found.
  • RCWC – Victor leaving, not too much going on.
  • Stream monitoring – There will be a meeting in New Paltz in late February to discuss results of last season’s sampling.  Other parameters are being considered for future testing.
  • EMC – Ulster County will pilot a green infrastructure mapping process in New York State.  Has been done elsewhere.  It plots large blocks of forest and natural areas to create a database for informed decision making when it comes to planning for public or private development.   Dennis Doyle spoke at  the meeting on the Regional Sustainability Plan, which will be up :on the County Website soon.
  •  Meeting adjourned at 8:37 pm
