New Food Scraps Recycling Law: Organics Recyclers and Municipalities Stakeholder Meeting

New York State recently passed new Food Donation and Food Scraps Recycling legislation. Effective January 1st, 2022, large generators of food scraps (generating two tons per week or more) must donate any edible food and recycle all remaining food scraps if they are within 25 miles of an organics recycler (composting facility, etc.).
