NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SEALED BIDS ARE SOUGHT AND REQUESTED FOR THE FOLLOWING: BID NAME: Mill Hook Road Bridge, BIN 2224430, Accord, NY 12404
The Town of Rochester, Ulster County, New York, is soliciting bids for the Demolition and Removal of the existing Steel Beam Bridge with Asphalt Deck (The Town will remove existing Wooden Deck and Railings) and Installation of Pre-Cast, Pre-Stressed Concrete Bridge Deck Beams, Steel Double Box Beam Bridge Rails, Modify Existing Concrete Abutment, and Blacktop Resurfacing of Approaches meeting the minimum specifications as defined by the project engineer and the Town of Rochester Highway Superintendent.

Bids will be received for multiple prime contracts in accordance with Wick’s Law requirements. Bids shall be on a lump
sum basis as indicated in attached bid forms.

All bids must be submitted in writing, sealed, and submitted to the Town of Rochester Clerk with a bid Due Date of
March 8, 2021 @ 12:00pm. The sealed envelope must contain the wording “SEALED BID” stating “Bid for Bridge”.

The bid Opening will be conducted on March 8, 2021 at 2pm via videoconference, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. The bid award is anticipated to be on or about March 22, 2021. The Town expects successful completion of the project by June 18, 2021.

It is the bidder’s responsibility to read the attached Bid Specifications and General Conditions, which outline bidding rules. Upon submission of bid, it is understood that the bidder has read, fully understands and will comply with said General Conditions and Specification requirements.
All bids must be submitted with an affirmed non-collusive bidding certification or will not be considered for award.

If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of specifications or other issues, may submit to the Project Engineers, Medenbach & Eggers, a written request for interpretation or correction thereof. Requests to be given consideration must be received at least three (3) days prior to the Bid Date. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed document will be made by Addendum only, duly issued, and a copy will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of documents not later than 48 hours prior to Bid Date. The Town of Rochester will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed document.
